About the original

The Supreme x Champion Chrome S/S Top is a short-sleeve pullover produced exclusively for Supreme's Spring/Summer 2019 collection. The body uses a metallic chrome-finish polyester shell with a rib-knit crewneck collar, raglan sleeves, and Supreme and Champion logos applied at the chest. Champion was founded in 1919 in Rochester, New York by brothers Abe and Bill Feinbloom as the Knickerbocker Knitting Company, patented the reverse-weave construction in 1938, supplied athletic apparel to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point beginning in the 1930s, and has been a HanesBrands subsidiary since 2006. The chrome shell is not part of Champion's standard catalog; no standalone Champion Chrome top was produced, making this a collab-only construction with no direct off-the-shelf original.

About Champion

Champion is an American sportswear company founded in 1919 by Simon Feinbloom and his sons William and Abraham in Rochester, New York, originally as Knickerbocker Knitting Mills. The company supplied athletic uniforms to the University of Michigan in the 1920s and to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point shortly after. Champion developed the reverse-weave sweatshirt in 1938, a construction that runs the fabric crosswise to limit shrinkage, and produced the first hooded sweatshirts for cold-weather laborers and athletes. HanesBrands has owned the label since 2006. Supreme has collaborated with Champion on co-branded hoodies, crewnecks, and sweatpants since the early 2000s.
