Rawlings is an American sporting goods manufacturer founded in 1887 by brothers George and Alfred Rawlings in St. Louis, Missouri, originally as a retail store selling fishing tackle, firearms, and team sports equipment. The company entered manufacturing in 1898 and patented the first football shoulder pads in 1902. In 1920, Cardinals pitcher Bill Doak proposed a leather web between the thumb and index finger of a baseball glove, and Rawlings bought the patent. It became the standard for every fielder's glove since. Rawlings introduced the Gold Glove award in 1957 and is the official baseball supplier of MLB. Supreme has collaborated with Rawlings on co-branded baseball gloves and bats.
