S.T. Dupont is a French luxury manufacturer founded in 1872 by Simon Tissot-Dupont in Paris, originally producing leather trunks and travel goods for Napoleon III's court. The company moved into metalwork in 1941 and patented the first butane lighter, the D57, in 1952. Its flagship Ligne 2 lighter, launched in 1977, is built to a golden-ratio profile and is identifiable by the precise ping it produces when the cap snaps open. Cases are hand-lacquered in Faverges, France, often in Chinese lacquer over brass. Supreme has collaborated with S.T. Dupont on co-branded versions of the Ligne 2 lighter.
