Shure Incorporated is an American audio electronics manufacturer founded in 1925 by Sidney N. Shure in Chicago as a radio parts distributor. The company moved into microphone production in 1932 and introduced the Unidyne unidirectional dynamic microphone in 1939, the ancestor of its modern professional line. The SM57 instrument microphone, released in 1965, and the SM58 vocal microphone, released in 1966, have been the industry standard for live sound and recording for six decades and appear on nearly every major-label record. Shure also produces wireless systems, in-ear monitors, and phono cartridges. Supreme released a co-branded Shure SM58 microphone for Fall/Winter 2022.
