About the original
The coaches jacket is a postwar American athletic staple: a nylon shell with snap-front closure, drawstring hem, and interior jersey lining, worn on sidelines since the 1960s. Champion Athletic Apparel, founded in Rochester, New York in 1919, is one of the originators of the style and supplied sideline gear to collegiate and pro teams through the mid-twentieth century. The Supreme version uses nylon with cotton jersey body lining and taffeta sleeve lining and retailed for $148.
