Champion Classic Jersey Long Sleeve Tee
About the original
The Champion Classic Jersey Long Sleeve Tee is a crewneck cotton long sleeve with an embroidered C logo at the left chest, made by a company founded in Rochester, New York in 1919 as Knickerbocker Knitting Mills by the Feinbloom family. Champion patented its reverse-weave construction for sweatshirts in 1952, but the classic long sleeve tee uses standard jersey cotton and has been a staple of the catalog for decades. The Supreme version was built on a Champion tee blank and adds vertical Supreme script printed down both sleeves in white; the body, neckline, and Champion C chest logo are unchanged. Released Spring/Summer 2016 in black, white, and red.
About Champion
Champion is an American sportswear company founded in 1919 by Simon Feinbloom and his sons William and Abraham in Rochester, New York, originally as Knickerbocker Knitting Mills. The company supplied athletic uniforms to the University of Michigan in the 1920s and to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point shortly after. Champion developed the reverse-weave sweatshirt in 1938, a construction that runs the fabric crosswise to limit shrinkage, and produced the first hooded sweatshirts for cold-weather laborers and athletes. HanesBrands has owned the label since 2006. Supreme has collaborated with Champion on co-branded hoodies, crewnecks, and sweatpants since the early 2000s.
