Classic Jersey Long-Sleeve Tee

About the original

A heavyweight cotton jersey long-sleeve tee built on Champion's standard long-sleeve blank, with set-in sleeves, ribbed cuffs and a rib collar, and a straight hem. Champion Athleticwear was founded by the Feinbloom brothers in Rochester, New York in 1919; the brand invented reverse-weave construction in 1938 and manufactured US military training gear and Ivy League athletic apparel throughout the mid-20th century, making its cotton jersey blanks the reference standard for American sportswear cut-and-sew. The FW17 Supreme version prints Champion's stacked-C wordmark repeated down the sleeves and across the chest; the stacked graphic and colorways were produced exclusively for Supreme on the standard Champion body.

About Champion

Champion is an American sportswear company founded in 1919 by Simon Feinbloom and his sons William and Abraham in Rochester, New York, originally as Knickerbocker Knitting Mills. The company supplied athletic uniforms to the University of Michigan in the 1920s and to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point shortly after. Champion developed the reverse-weave sweatshirt in 1938, a construction that runs the fabric crosswise to limit shrinkage, and produced the first hooded sweatshirts for cold-weather laborers and athletes. HanesBrands has owned the label since 2006. Supreme has collaborated with Champion on co-branded hoodies, crewnecks, and sweatpants since the early 2000s.
