Supreme x Dr. Martens Spiderweb 3-Eye Shoe
Supreme vs. Original

Supreme version
Original — Dr. Martens
1461 3-Eye Shoe
About the original
The Dr. Martens 1461 3-Eye Shoe is a low-profile smooth-leather oxford with Goodyear-welted construction, the yellow Z-welt stitch, and an air-cushioned PVC sole. Dr. Martens was founded in Northamptonshire, England, in 1960 after Dr. Klaus Maertens developed the bouncing air-cushioned sole in Germany in 1945; the 1461 arrived on April 1, 1961, and takes its name from that date. Dr. Martens sells the 1461 in smooth black, cherry red, and other finishes as a stock item. The Supreme SS22 version applies a black spiderweb graphic radiating from the toe cap across the quarter panels and adds a Supreme logo stamp at the heel. It retailed at $178 in black, white, and red; the spiderweb print is collab-specific.
About Dr. Martens
Dr. Martens is a British footwear brand whose air-cushioned sole was invented in 1947 by Dr. Klaus Maertens and Dr. Herbert Funck in Seeshaupt, Germany, after Maertens rebuilt his army boots with a rubber sole made from reclaimed tires. R. Griggs Group of Northamptonshire bought the UK patent rights in 1959 and produced the eight-eyelet 1460 boot in cherry-red smooth leather on April 1, 1960, at its Cobbs Lane factory in Wollaston. The 1461 shoe and 2976 Chelsea followed. Permira acquired the company in 2014 and floated it on the LSE in 2021. Supreme has collaborated with Dr. Martens on co-branded 1460 boots and Chelsea silhouettes.
