Supreme vs. Original

Supreme version
Original — Mitchell & Ness
Throwback Replica Football Jersey
About the original
The Supreme x Mitchell & Ness Football Jersey is a 100 percent polyester mesh V-neck pullover jersey in the Mitchell & Ness throwback-replica cut, released for Fall/Winter 2022 at $138 retail. Mitchell & Ness was founded in 1904 in Philadelphia by sporting-goods merchants Frank Mitchell and Charles Ness, and became the sole NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL license holder for throwback jerseys in 1995. Their throwback replicas use embroidered tackle twill lettering on mesh body construction to match the authentics sold to teams. This jersey uses the same chassis, substituting a graffiti-style Supreme wordmark across the chest in a contrast color and a Supreme Classics tag at the hem where the team mark would sit. Released alongside matching shorts in Black (with purple graphics), Brown, and Cream.
About Mitchell & Ness
Mitchell & Ness is an American sports apparel company founded in 1904 by Frank P. Mitchell and Charles M. Ness in Philadelphia, originally selling hand-strung tennis rackets and custom golf clubs made from imported Scottish wood. The company outfitted the Philadelphia Eagles' first NFL kits in 1933. Owner Peter Capolino pivoted the business to vintage reproductions in 1983, launching the Cooperstown Collection of MLB throwbacks in 1988 and the NBA Hardwood Classics line in 1999. Fanatics bought the company in 2022 alongside investors LeBron James, Jay-Z, and Kevin Hart. Supreme has collaborated with Mitchell & Ness on co-branded NBA-style basketball jerseys and warm-up sets.
