59FIFTY New York Yankees Kanji Fitted (Supreme exclusive)

About the original

The Supreme/New York Yankees Kanji New Era is a 59FIFTY fitted cap in poly wool, embroidered with multiple overlapping interlocking NY logos in silver and bronze across the front and crown, a green kanji character reading 最高 (saikō, meaning the best or supreme) on the right side, and a New Era flag on the wearers right panel with an MLB batter silhouette on the rear. The 59FIFTY was introduced by New Era in 1954 and has been MLBs exclusive on-field cap since 2007; New Era was founded in Buffalo, New York in 1920 by Ehrhardt Koch. MLB licensing means the Yankees NY logo on this cap cannot be legally reproduced by anyone except New Era. Released November 10, 2022 at $68 retail in black, navy, and stone — Supreme exclusive.

About New Era

New Era is an American headwear manufacturer founded in 1920 by Ehrhardt Koch in Buffalo, New York, where it is still headquartered. The company introduced the 59FIFTY fitted cap in 1954 and became the exclusive on-field cap supplier for Major League Baseball in 1993, a relationship that now extends to the NFL, NBA, and international football leagues. The 59FIFTY crossed from dugouts into hip-hop wardrobes through the 1990s, and New Era now produces licensed caps for teams and franchises across dozens of sports and entertainment properties. Supreme has released New Era fitted caps nearly every season since the early 2000s.
