Original — The North Face
Wawona Blanket
About the original
The Supreme x The North Face Mountain Nuptse Blanket is a 700-fill goose down throw measuring 58 by 69 inches with a water-resistant printed nylon shell and an included compression stuff sack. The North Face was founded in San Francisco in 1966, and the Nuptse line — named after the 25,791-foot Himalayan peak adjacent to Everest — debuted in 1992 as the brand's flagship insulated outerwear. The FW2017 collab borrows The North Face's archival mountain landscape pattern, drawn from their early-1990s expedition catalog, applied across the entire panel. Released November 30, 2017 at $348. The closest non-collab analog in The North Face's current line is the synthetic-fill Wawona Blanket at $75.
About The North Face
The North Face is an American outdoor apparel and equipment company founded in 1966 by Douglas and Susie Tompkins as a mountaineering retail store in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood. The company introduced the Sierra down parka in 1968 and the geodesic Oval Intention tent in 1975, and its Nuptse down jacket, released in 1992, is named for the 7,861-meter Himalayan peak. The brand now produces the Summit Series, Steep Tech, and Denali fleece lines under VF Corporation ownership. Supreme and The North Face have run one of streetwear's longest ongoing collaborations, releasing seasonal capsules each spring and fall since 2007.
