About A. Rifkin Co.
A. Rifkin Co. is an American security bag manufacturer founded in 1892 by Abraham and Anna Rifkin in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, after the family immigrated through Castle Garden and began sewing heavy-duty denim work clothing for local farmers. In 1933 the Wyoming National Bank asked the company to produce locking zipper bags for night deposits during Roosevelt's Bank Holiday, prompting Jack Rifkin to patent the Arcolock zipper-locking device that same year. A. Rifkin Co. supplies reusable fabric security bags to U.S. banks and government agencies, and remains family-owned in Wilkes-Barre. Supreme collaborated with A. Rifkin Co. on an Arcolock locking deposit bag.
