About the original
The Schott NYC Shearling Coat is a full-length coat with a notched lapel, patch pockets, and a belted waist, cut from Australian merino shearling with leather trim at the collar and cuffs. Schott NYC was founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and produced the first leather motorcycle jacket, the Perfecto, in 1928, named after Irving's favorite cigar. The company supplied the A-2 flight jacket to the US Army Air Forces during World War II and still manufactures in Union, New Jersey. Shearling is tanned sheepskin with the wool left intact on the inside, worn as both insulation and lining in a single panel. The Supreme version is exclusive to the FW2025 collab.
About Schott NYC
Schott NYC is an American outerwear manufacturer founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott on Manhattan's Lower East Side, originally making fur-lined raincoats sold door-to-door. In 1928 Irving Schott designed the Perfecto, the first leather jacket built with a zipper, selling the original at a Long Island Harley-Davidson distributor for $5.50. The off-center asymmetric zip became the template for the genre, worn by Marlon Brando in The Wild One and later by the Ramones and the Sex Pistols. The Schott family still operates the company from a factory in Union, New Jersey. Supreme has collaborated with Schott NYC on Perfecto jackets, varsity jackets, and N-3B parkas.
