Supreme x Schott NYC Shearling Bomber Jacket
Supreme vs. Original

Supreme version

Original — Schott NYC
257S Classic B-3 Sheepskin Leather Bomber Jacket
About the original
The Schott NYC 257S Classic B-3 is a reproduction of the U.S. Army Air Forces B-3 flight jacket issued to B-17 and B-24 bomber crews in WWII, cut from nappa-tanned sheepskin with a full sheep-fur interior, two handwarmer pockets, a brass YKK zipper, and buckled collar and waist straps that seal the cockpit draft. The original B-3 was developed in 1934 to protect crews flying unpressurized bombers at altitudes where temperatures dropped below minus 50 degrees. Schott NYC was founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott on the Lower East Side and still manufactures the 257S in the USA. The Supreme FW23 version uses the same shearling construction and retails for $1,525 from Schott.
About Schott NYC
Schott NYC is an American outerwear manufacturer founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott on Manhattan's Lower East Side, originally making fur-lined raincoats sold door-to-door. In 1928 Irving Schott designed the Perfecto, the first leather jacket built with a zipper, selling the original at a Long Island Harley-Davidson distributor for $5.50. The off-center asymmetric zip became the template for the genre, worn by Marlon Brando in The Wild One and later by the Ramones and the Sex Pistols. The Schott family still operates the company from a factory in Union, New Jersey. Supreme has collaborated with Schott NYC on Perfecto jackets, varsity jackets, and N-3B parkas.
