Supreme x Schott NYC Suede A-2 Jacket
Supreme vs. Original

Supreme version
Original — Schott NYC
Suede A-2 Jacket (Supreme exclusive)
About the original
Schott NYC was founded in 1913 by Irving and Jack Schott on Manhattan's Lower East Side and manufactured leather flight jackets for the U.S. Army Air Corps starting in 1928; the civilian 184SM A-2 joined the Schott catalog in 1977 and is still made in the USA. The jacket uses the A-2 flight pattern (pointed collar, full zip with snap-down wind flap, two flap patch pockets, interior chest pocket, knit cuffs and waistband) cut from leopard-print suede in place of Schott's standard cowhide. A Schott leather label sits inside the collar and a small Supreme tab is stitched at the right hip pocket. Released for Spring/Summer 2018; the suede fabrication and leopard print are exclusive to this collaboration.
About Schott NYC
Schott NYC is an American outerwear manufacturer founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott on Manhattan's Lower East Side, originally making fur-lined raincoats sold door-to-door. In 1928 Irving Schott designed the Perfecto, the first leather jacket built with a zipper, selling the original at a Long Island Harley-Davidson distributor for $5.50. The off-center asymmetric zip became the template for the genre, worn by Marlon Brando in The Wild One and later by the Ramones and the Sex Pistols. The Schott family still operates the company from a factory in Union, New Jersey. Supreme has collaborated with Schott NYC on Perfecto jackets, varsity jackets, and N-3B parkas.
