About the original
A cotton fleece sweatpant with zip-off legs that detach at the knee to convert into shorts, built by The North Face exclusively for Supreme. The North Face was founded in 1966 in San Francisco by Doug Tompkins and Susie Tompkins as a backpacking retailer, and produces convertible nylon hiking pants in its core line, the Horizon and Paramount series, but does not offer a convertible sweatpant variant outside this collaboration. The zip-off construction borrows from their trail-pant pattern, grafted onto a heavyweight fleece sweatpant with an embroidered TNF half-dome logo on the thigh and a Supreme wordmark on the back pocket. Released April 6, 2023 at $138; no non-Supreme equivalent exists at retail.
About The North Face
The North Face is an American outdoor apparel and equipment company founded in 1966 by Douglas and Susie Tompkins as a mountaineering retail store in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood. The company introduced the Sierra down parka in 1968 and the geodesic Oval Intention tent in 1975, and its Nuptse down jacket, released in 1992, is named for the 7,861-meter Himalayan peak. The brand now produces the Summit Series, Steep Tech, and Denali fleece lines under VF Corporation ownership. Supreme and The North Face have run one of streetwear's longest ongoing collaborations, releasing seasonal capsules each spring and fall since 2007.
