About the original

Thrasher is a skateboarding magazine founded in San Francisco in 1981 by Kevin Thatcher, Eric Swenson, and Fausto Vitello as the in-house publication for Independent Truck Company. Its Skate Mag pullover hoodie is a 50% cotton, 50% polyester standard-fit hood with a drawcord, kangaroo pocket, and the magazine's flame-script logo screen-printed at center chest; the flame logo was drawn by an unknown freelancer in the early 1980s and has been the masthead since. The hoodie sells for $75.95 through Thrasher's San Francisco shop and skate-shop network. The Supreme FW21 version uses the same pullover pattern with a co-branded Supreme / Thrasher Multi-Logo graphic printed across the chest, released October 21, 2021 at $148.

About Thrasher

Thrasher is an American skateboarding magazine founded in January 1981 by Eric Swenson and Fausto Vitello in San Francisco, California, originally as a marketing vehicle for Independent Truck Company, which Swenson and Vitello also owned. Kevin Thatcher served as founding editor and ran the magazine for its first two decades. The publication is known for its annual Skater of the Year award, established in 1990, and the flame-logo merchandise that broke into mainstream fashion in the mid-2010s. Thrasher remains independently owned by High Speed Productions. Supreme has collaborated with Thrasher on T-shirts and hoodies built around co-branded flame and box-logo graphics.
