About the original

The Supreme/Timberland Rugby is a long-sleeve cotton jersey rugby shirt with a contrast folded twill collar, three-button placket, twin-needle stitching, and horizontal stripes across the body and sleeves, with co-branded Supreme/Timberland embroidery at the chest. Timberland was founded in Abington, Massachusetts in 1952 by Nathan Swartz and rebranded around its waterproof 6-inch boot in 1973; rugby silhouettes have never been a standing line item in Timberlands own catalog. The FW21 collab released October 28, 2021 at $148 retail in brick (black/brown stripe) as part of a broader Supreme x Timberland capsule that also included hooded sweatshirts, 6-inch boots, and a bag — produced as a Supreme exclusive, with no standalone Timberland retail version of this rugby.

About Timberland

Timberland is an American footwear and apparel company founded in 1952 by Nathan Swartz as the Abington Shoe Company in Abington, Massachusetts, and later headquartered in Stratham, New Hampshire. In 1973 the company introduced the first injection-molded waterproof leather boot, branded as the Timberland, and adopted the name as its own. The wheat-colored 6-Inch Premium became a staple of 1990s hip-hop fashion, construction trades, and New York street dress. The company, now part of VF Corporation, also produces the Earthkeepers and PRO lines. Supreme and Timberland have collaborated on seasonal footwear and outerwear since 2002.
