About the original

The Y's by Yohji Yamamoto Thermal is an all-cotton waffle-knit long-sleeve crew with all-over print, produced for Supreme's Fall/Winter 2025 collaboration with Yohji Yamamoto's diffusion label. Y's Company Ltd. was established in Tokyo in 1972 by Yohji Yamamoto as his first ready-to-wear line, predating the Yohji Yamamoto mainline's 1981 Paris debut by nine years. The thermal carries original artwork by NYC tattoo artist Joe Chatt (a tangled black-and-gold graphic combining insectoid, floral, and bondage imagery) printed edge-to-edge across body and sleeves, with a co-branded Y's / Supreme red-and-white woven label at the back neck. It released September 11, 2025 at $148, offered in a single multicolor print as part of the wider Y's capsule that also included a leather jacket, WINDSTOPPER bomber, and denim separates.

About Y's

Y's is a Japanese fashion label founded in 1972 by Yohji Yamamoto in Tokyo, established as Y's Company Ltd. before the eponymous Yohji Yamamoto line debuted in Paris in 1981. The label began with menswear-inspired womenswear cut in oversized, uncluttered shapes from washed fabrics in dark colors, drawing on the work clothes of post-war Japanese blue-collar laborers. Yamamoto graduated from Keio University in law in 1966 before studying at Bunka Fashion College. Y's remains the foundation of the Yohji Yamamoto group alongside Yohji Yamamoto and Y-3. Supreme has collaborated with Y's on co-branded outerwear and tailoring.
