About the original

The Supreme/Yohji Yamamoto Leather Work Jacket is a zip-front cowhide leather jacket with a point collar, welt hand pockets, an interior chest pocket, and quilted poly lining. The back carries a large hand-painted face graphic by Mexican artist Chito — the same scribbled portrait used across the FW20 Yohji capsule — with "SUPREME" painted in red beneath it and a Yohji Yamamoto signature in white. Yohji Yamamoto founded his label in Tokyo in 1972 and debuted in Paris in 1981 alongside Rei Kawakubo, defining Japanese avant-garde menswear through deconstructed silhouettes and a near-exclusive black palette. Released September 17, 2020 at $1,298 retail in black, orange, and a black/white/red colorway, made in Japan exclusively for Supreme — Yohji Yamamoto does not sell a standalone equivalent.

About Yohji Yamamoto

Yohji Yamamoto is a Japanese fashion designer born in Tokyo in 1943 and trained at Bunka Fashion College. He launched his women's label Y's in 1977 and showed his first Paris collection under his own name in 1981 alongside Rei Kawakubo, a debut credited with introducing deconstructed, predominantly black tailoring to European fashion. Yamamoto founded Y-3 with Adidas in 2002, one of the first sustained sportswear-luxury partnerships, and continues to design his main line, Y's, and Pour Homme collections. His work is held in the collections of the Met and the V&A. Supreme collaborated with Yohji Yamamoto on outerwear and tailoring.
