About the original

The Independent Stage 11 Standard is a skateboard truck built with a 356 T6 heat-treated aluminum hanger and baseplate, a chromoly steel axle, a grade-8 kingpin, and 90a bushings, in Independent's 55mm standard height. Independent Truck Company launched in 1978, founded by Fausto Vitello, Eric Swenson, Jay Shuirman, and Richard Novak, and is run today by NHS out of Santa Cruz, California; Vitello and Swenson went on to start Thrasher magazine three years later. Stage 11 is the company's current geometry, tuned for turn response and stability on landings. Supreme's polished Standard is the stock production truck with Supreme branding added — the hanger, axle, and kingpin are the ones under most skaters' boards.

About Independent

Independent Truck Company is an American skateboard truck manufacturer founded in 1978 by Fausto Vitello, Eric Swenson, Richard Novak, and Jay Shuirman in Santa Cruz, California. The trucks are cast at Ermico Enterprises in San Francisco and distributed by NHS, the Santa Cruz parent company that also runs Santa Cruz Skateboards and Creature. Within six months of launch the trucks held a 50 percent market share, and the Stage geometry has been refined through eleven generations. The Iron Cross logo, designed by artist Kevin Ancell, became one of skateboarding's most reproduced graphics. Supreme has collaborated with Independent on co-branded trucks and apparel.
