The Mechanix Wear Original is a synthetic-leather work glove with a touchscreen-capable palm, a breathable TrekDry mesh back, and a thermoplastic-rubber hook-and-loop wrist closure. Mechanix Wear was founded in 1991 by James Hale to solve a specific problem for auto-racing pit crews: heat versus dexterity. The glove reached competition at the 1991 Daytona 500 on the Richard Childress Racing No. 3 GM Goodwrench crew — Dale Earnhardt's team — and spread across NASCAR pit lane within a few seasons before moving into military, industrial, and DIY use. The seamless synthetic palm and form-fitting mesh preserve fine motor control while protecting the hand. Supreme's version is the standard Original glove printed with box-logo branding.
