About the original
The New Era Short Knit Beanie is an acrylic cuffed knit cap with a rolled cuff and an embroidered New Era flag at the wear side, sold in one size. New Era Cap Company has made headwear in Buffalo, New York since Ehrhardt Koch founded it in 1920, fourteen years before it made its first baseball cap in 1934 and thirty-four before the 59FIFTY arrived in 1954. The cuff doubles the knit over the ears, and the blank is the base that team-licensed and decorated versions are built on. Supreme has used the same cuffed New Era knit most fall seasons since 2013, changing only the graphic across the cuff — box logo, S logo, script, and for FW26 an embroidered Supreme spellout.
About New Era
New Era is an American headwear manufacturer founded in 1920 by Ehrhardt Koch in Buffalo, New York, where it is still headquartered. The company introduced the 59FIFTY fitted cap in 1954 and became the exclusive on-field cap supplier for Major League Baseball in 1993, a relationship that now extends to the NFL, NBA, and international football leagues. The 59FIFTY crossed from dugouts into hip-hop wardrobes through the 1990s, and New Era now produces licensed caps for teams and franchises across dozens of sports and entertainment properties. Supreme has released New Era fitted caps nearly every season since the early 2000s.
