About the original

The Schott NYC 654 Cowhide Casual Racer is a slim café-racer leather jacket in chrome-tanned, drum-dyed lightweight cowhide, cut without the bi-swing panels or underarm gussets of a full motorcycle jacket. It has a mandarin collar with a snap closure, two zippered front pockets with chain pulls, a non-insulated polytwill lining, and a 26-inch body. Schott NYC was founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott on Manhattan's Lower East Side, and built the first leather motorcycle jacket, the Perfecto, in 1928. The 654 is cut and sewn at Schott's factory in Union, New Jersey, where the company still makes all of its leatherwear. Supreme has run the collab across several seasons at $898, close to Schott's own retail.

About Schott NYC

Schott NYC is an American outerwear manufacturer founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott on Manhattan's Lower East Side, originally making fur-lined raincoats sold door-to-door. In 1928 Irving Schott designed the Perfecto, the first leather jacket built with a zipper, selling the original at a Long Island Harley-Davidson distributor for $5.50. The off-center asymmetric zip became the template for the genre, worn by Marlon Brando in The Wild One and later by the Ramones and the Sex Pistols. The Schott family still operates the company from a factory in Union, New Jersey. Supreme has collaborated with Schott NYC on Perfecto jackets, varsity jackets, and N-3B parkas.
