3M Post-it is the repositionable note product line from 3M, the Minnesota-based industrial conglomerate founded in 1902 in Two Harbors, Minnesota and now headquartered in Maplewood. The technology came from Dr. Spencer Silver, a 3M scientist who in 1968 accidentally created a low-tack pressure-sensitive microsphere adhesive while attempting a stronger one. Colleague Art Fry applied it to bookmark paper in 1974, and 3M launched the product as Post 'n Peel in 1977 before rebranding it Post-it Notes nationwide in 1980. Silver and Fry entered the National Inventors Hall of Fame in 2010. Supreme collaborated with 3M Post-it on a branded Post-it Notes set.
