Audio-Technica is a Japanese audio equipment manufacturer founded in 1962 by Hideo Matsushita in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo. The company started with three employees building the AT-1 and AT-3 phono cartridges and now produces headphones, microphones, turntables, and wireless systems from its headquarters in Machida, Tokyo. The AT-LP120 turntable and ATH-M50x studio headphones are catalog mainstays, and Audio-Technica microphones have been used at every Grammy Awards broadcast since 1998. The Matsushita family still controls the company. Supreme has collaborated with Audio-Technica on co-branded headphones.
