Supreme vs. Original

Original — Audio-Technica
Audio-Technica AT-SB727 Sound Burger
About the original
Audio-Technica was founded in 1962 in Shinjuku, Tokyo by Hideo Matsushita, originally as a phono cartridge manufacturer supplying Japanese audio companies. The original Sound Burger (AT727) launched in 1982 as the first commercially successful portable turntable, and Audio-Technica reissued it as the AT-SB727 in 2022 with Bluetooth 5.1, a USB-C rechargeable battery rated for 12 hours per charge, and a built-in dual moving-magnet phono cartridge. It plays 33⅓ and 45 RPM records via a belt-drive motor and a die-cast aluminum platter, and the clamshell design closes around the record for transport. The FW2024 Supreme version is a standard AT-SB727 in red with the Supreme logo printed on the tonearm rest. Released December 12, 2024 at $288.
