Luden's is an American confectionery brand founded in 1879 by William H. Luden in Reading, Pennsylvania, where he started a candy operation in the back room of his father's jewelry shop. In 1881, Luden introduced honey-licorice menthol throat drops, the first menthol cough drops in the United States, colored amber rather than the red then standard. By 1909 the company employed hundreds of workers and sold five million packages annually. Luden's was acquired by Food Industries of Philadelphia in 1928 and is currently owned by Prestige Consumer Healthcare. Supreme used the Luden's brand on co-branded cough drop tins and graphic accessories.
