Yawataya Isogoro is a Japanese spice company founded in 1736 by Kan'emon, who began selling shichimi togarashi at the gates of Zenkoji Temple in Nagano. The Nishiyama region around the shop produced six of the seven blend ingredients, with dried mandarin peel carried in from Kamigata. The current shichimi recipe combines red chili, sansho pepper, hemp seed, sesame, perilla, ginger, and tangerine peel. Yawataya Isogoro is one of the three oldest shichimi houses in Japan, alongside Tokyo's Yagenbori and Kyoto's Shichimiya. Supreme has collaborated with Yawataya Isogoro on a co-branded three-tin spice set.
