Ziploc is an American resealable bag and food storage brand developed by the Dow Chemical Company in 1968 and marketed nationally beginning in 1973. The interlocking plastic slide fastener that made the bags possible was patented by Borge Madsen in 1951 and licensed to Dow through Minigrip in 1964. S.C. Johnson & Son acquired Ziploc as part of the DowBrands purchase in 1998 and now manufactures the bags, sandwich bags, freezer bags, and rigid storage containers from its headquarters in Racine, Wisconsin. The product is one of the most recognizable consumer packaging items in American kitchens. Supreme collaborated with Ziploc on co-branded sandwich and storage bags.
