b.b. Simon is an American accessories brand founded in 1987 by Simon Tavassoli in Los Angeles. The name is an abbreviation of Belts By Simon. The brand introduced its Swarovski crystal-studded leather belts in the early 2000s, and the design became a fixture of hip-hop style, worn by Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Birdman. Each belt is assembled at the company's Irvine, California factory using Italian leather, large metal buckles sourced from Taiwan, and Austrian Swarovski crystals set by hand.
