About the original
The Butterfly Table Tennis Racket Set packages a shakehand-grip racket with FLEXTRA rubber on both faces, three ITTF-approved Butterfly 40+ plastic training balls, a zip racket case, and a hard ball case suitable for club play or travel. FLEXTRA is an inverted rubber rated for mid-range control and spin, appropriate for intermediate players moving up from stock starter rackets. Butterfly was founded in 1950 in Yanai, Yamaguchi by Hikosuke Tamasu and has supplied rackets, rubbers, and tournament-grade tables to Olympic and World Championship players for more than seventy years. The brand remains the most widely used equipment on the ITTF circuit. The FW19 Supreme collab set was released at $198, a premium over Butterfly's stock sets.
About Butterfly
Butterfly, operated by Tamasu Co., Ltd., is a Japanese table tennis equipment manufacturer founded in 1950 in Yanai, Yamaguchi by Hikosuke Tamasu, a former national team player. The company introduced the Sriver rubber in 1967 and the Tenergy series in 2008, both of which became standards on the World Tour. Butterfly supplies blades, rubbers, balls, tables, and apparel to national teams and has equipped the majority of Olympic and World Championship medalists for decades. Its Tokyo-based R&D center develops blade veneers and rubber compounds in-house. Supreme produced a co-branded paddle and ball set with Butterfly.
