Supreme x Heller Bowls (Set of 6)
Supreme vs. Original

About the original
Lella and Massimo Vignelli designed the Hellerware stacking dinnerware in 1964 for Heller, the New York manufacturer founded by Alan Heller in 1971 to mass-produce modernist tableware in injection-molded melamine. The Maxbowl is a 5-inch diameter bowl in BPA-free techno polymer, designed to nest into a single column for storage and held in the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection alongside the rest of the Hellerware line. Massimo Vignelli is also known for the 1972 New York City Subway map and the American Airlines identity. The SS2023 Supreme version is a six-piece rainbow set in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and white, with a printed Supreme logo on each bowl; it released June 22, 2023 at $68.
About Heller
Heller is an American furniture and housewares company founded in 1971 by Alan Heller in New York. The first product was a stacking melamine dinnerware set designed by Lella and Massimo Vignelli, originally released in Italy in 1964 and awarded the Compasso d'Oro that year before its Italian manufacturer went bankrupt. Alan Heller flew to Italy, bought the original molds, and put the line back into production. Six months after relaunch, Hellerware entered the Museum of Modern Art permanent design collection. The company later commissioned work from Frank Gehry, Mario Bellini, and other architects, and is now headquartered in Westport, Connecticut. Supreme collaborated with Heller on a Vignelli-designed plate set.
