The James Brand Palmer is a slim aluminum-bodied utility box cutter that uses standard replaceable trapezoidal blades, with a patented tool-free blade-release mechanism, a pocket clip, and a sliding blade lock. The James Brand is a design studio founded in 2012 in Portland, Oregon that produces minimalist pocket tools including the Chapter and Elko folders and the Palmer cutter, with construction work contracted to Taiwanese and Japanese manufacturing partners. The Palmer is designed around the same blade format used by Stanley and Olfa cutters. The Supreme SS23 version is the standard anodized aluminum Palmer with Supreme and James Brand logos laser-engraved on the front and back faces, released May 25, 2023 at $78.
