About the original

The Kryptonite Evolution Mini-5 is a compact bicycle U-lock with a 13 mm hardened max-performance steel shackle, double-deadbolt anti-rotation crossbar, and a disc-style cylinder with sliding dust cover that resists picking and drilling. Interior dimensions of 3.25 by 5.5 inches and a 2.65-pound weight make it the shortest in the Evolution line, and it carries a 7 out of 10 on Kryptonite's security scale plus a Sold Secure Gold rating. The lock ships with a patented FlexFrame-U transport bracket and three stainless steel keys. Kryptonite was founded in 1971 in Cambridge, Massachusetts by Stanley Kaplan after his bike was stolen, and the brand has been the reference in bicycle security ever since. The FW15 Supreme collab adds box-logo branding.

About Kryptonite

Kryptonite is an American bicycle lock manufacturer founded in 1971 by Michael Zane in Canton, Massachusetts. The company introduced the first production U-lock in 1972, using hardened steel to defeat bolt cutters and establishing the form factor now standard across the category. Kryptonite publishes a 1-to-10 security rating used by cyclists and insurers to compare locks, and its New York Fahgettaboudit chain and Evolution series are widely specified in high-theft cities. The brand has been owned by Allegion since 2001. Supreme has collaborated with Kryptonite on co-branded U-locks and chain locks.
