Supreme x Nike Air Max 98 TL
Supreme vs. Original

Supreme version
Original — Nike
Air Max 98 TL
About the original
The Nike Air Max 98 TL is a streamlined 1999 variant of Sergio Lozano's 1998 Air Max 98, retooled with a smoother upper, mini-Swoosh toe branding, and a dual-pressure full-length Air-Sole unit visible through the midsole window. Nike was founded in Eugene, Oregon in 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman and rebranded to Nike in 1971. The TL trims back the layered paneling of the original 98 in favor of a cleaner mesh-and-synthetic upper and is positioned as a tonal, branding-light alternative within the Air Max 98 family. The Supreme FW22 collab uses the standard TL last and Air-Sole tooling with co-branded heel and tongue hits as the only seasonal change.
About Nike
Nike is an American sportswear corporation founded in 1964 as Blue Ribbon Sports by track coach Bill Bowerman and runner Phil Knight in Eugene, Oregon, and renamed Nike in 1971. The Swoosh was designed that same year by graphic design student Carolyn Davidson for thirty-five dollars. Bowerman prototyped the Cortez and the waffle-sole Moon Shoe, and the Air Max line, introduced in 1987, made Tinker Hatfield's visible-air midsole a signature. Nike now produces footwear and apparel across running, basketball, football, and training, and owns Jordan Brand and Converse. Supreme has collaborated with Nike repeatedly since 2002 across Air Force 1, Air Max, and Dunk.
