About the original

The North Face Exploration Convertible Pant is a technical hiking trouser cut from an abrasion-resistant nylon-polyester stretch blend, with a DWR durable water-repellent finish, a seam-free crotch gusset, and zip-off lower legs that convert the pant into shorts. The Exploration line was designed for multi-day backcountry use and incorporates The North Face's FlashDry moisture-wicking technology at key sweat zones. The North Face was founded in San Francisco in 1966 as a climbing and mountaineering retailer and now operates as a subsidiary of VF Corporation. The SS20 Supreme version keeps the convertible zip-off cargo construction, adds a detachable webbing belt, and released May 21, 2020 at $198.

About The North Face

The North Face is an American outdoor apparel and equipment company founded in 1966 by Douglas and Susie Tompkins as a mountaineering retail store in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood. The company introduced the Sierra down parka in 1968 and the geodesic Oval Intention tent in 1975, and its Nuptse down jacket, released in 1992, is named for the 7,861-meter Himalayan peak. The brand now produces the Summit Series, Steep Tech, and Denali fleece lines under VF Corporation ownership. Supreme and The North Face have run one of streetwear's longest ongoing collaborations, releasing seasonal capsules each spring and fall since 2007.
