About the original

The North Face Expedition Backpack is a high-volume alpine pack built on a ripstop nylon shell with a load-bearing padded hip belt, dual ice-axe loops, compression straps on all four sides, and internal frame support for multi-day mountain travel. The North Face was founded in 1966 as a climbing and backpacking shop at the base of Columbus Avenue in San Francisco, and the Expedition line has long sat at the top of their pack range alongside pieces used on 8,000-meter peaks. The FW17 collab wraps the pack in an allover mountain-landscape graphic print, part of a season-wide Supreme x TNF capsule that also included a coordinating Nuptse jacket, fleece, and headwear in the same landscape motif.

About The North Face

The North Face is an American outdoor apparel and equipment company founded in 1966 by Douglas and Susie Tompkins as a mountaineering retail store in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood. The company introduced the Sierra down parka in 1968 and the geodesic Oval Intention tent in 1975, and its Nuptse down jacket, released in 1992, is named for the 7,861-meter Himalayan peak. The brand now produces the Summit Series, Steep Tech, and Denali fleece lines under VF Corporation ownership. Supreme and The North Face have run one of streetwear's longest ongoing collaborations, releasing seasonal capsules each spring and fall since 2007.
