Supreme x Playboy Leisure Short
Supreme vs. Original

Supreme version
Original — Playboy
Playboy Leisure Short
About the original
Playboy was launched in Chicago in 1953 by Hugh Hefner with an $8,000 stake raised from family and investors. The debut issue featured a Marilyn Monroe centerfold and sold out in weeks. Playboy Enterprises built a magazine, a club chain, and a global apparel licensing business around the rabbit-head logo, designed by Art Paul in 1953. The company licenses its marks to third-party apparel partners but does not manufacture a leisure short of this cut under its own name. The Supreme Leisure Short was produced for the SS2019 Playboy capsule as a short-length co-branded piece, released alongside shirts and accessories using the bunny mark, and has no standalone Playboy retail equivalent.
About Playboy
Playboy is an American men's magazine founded in 1953 by Hugh Hefner in Chicago, Illinois, produced from his Hyde Park kitchen with $8,000 in seed capital. The first issue carried no date (Hefner was unsure there would be a second) and led with a Marilyn Monroe centerfold from a previously published calendar shoot. The Rabbit Head logo, designed by art director Art Paul for the second issue, became one of the most-licensed marks of the twentieth century. Playboy paused its print magazine in 2020 and now operates as a licensing business under PLBY Group. Supreme has collaborated with Playboy on Rabbit Head T-shirts, hoodies, and outerwear.
