About the original

The Playboy Shawl Collar Full-Zip Sweater is a heavy wool-blend knit cardigan featuring the Playboy Rabbit Head, the magazine’s mark designed by Art Paul for Playboy’s second issue in 1953. The body is jacquard-knit with two large Rabbit Heads on the chest, and cream contrast stripes run across the sleeves and hem. Construction uses a chunky wool/acrylic gauge with a shawl-style collar, a full-length front zip, and ribbed cuffs and waistband. Playboy Enterprises licenses Rabbit Head apparel through partner manufacturers; this sweater was produced for the Supreme FW17 collaboration with co-branded woven labels at the interior. The Playboy mark on the chest is the same logo used continuously across Playboy’s magazine and merchandise since 1953.

About Playboy

Playboy is an American men's magazine founded in 1953 by Hugh Hefner in Chicago, Illinois, produced from his Hyde Park kitchen with $8,000 in seed capital. The first issue carried no date (Hefner was unsure there would be a second) and led with a Marilyn Monroe centerfold from a previously published calendar shoot. The Rabbit Head logo, designed by art director Art Paul for the second issue, became one of the most-licensed marks of the twentieth century. Playboy paused its print magazine in 2020 and now operates as a licensing business under PLBY Group. Supreme has collaborated with Playboy on Rabbit Head T-shirts, hoodies, and outerwear.
