About the original
The Schott NYC 257S Classic B-3 is a reproduction of the sheepskin flight jacket the U.S. Army Air Forces issued to B-17 and B-24 bomber crews in World War II. The original B-3 was developed in 1934 to keep gunners alive in unpressurized aircraft at altitudes where the temperature fell below minus 50 degrees: a nappa-tanned sheepskin shell, full sheep-fur interior, buckled collar and waist straps to seal out the draft, and two handwarmer pockets. Schott NYC was founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott on New York's Lower East Side and still builds the 257S in the USA, where it retails for $1,690. For this Fall/Winter 2014 collaboration, Supreme's only change to the pattern was adding a hood to the sheepskin bomber.

Schott NYC is an American outerwear manufacturer founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott on Manhattan's Lower East Side, originally making fur-lined raincoats sold door-to-door. In 1928 Irving Schott designed the Perfecto, the first leather jacket built with a zipper, selling the original at a Long Island Harley-Davidson distributor for $5.50.
