About the original
ShedRain was founded in 1947 in Portland, Oregon by Meyer and Sol Blauer with uncles Barney Liebreich and Nathan Gold, who bought a small umbrella repair shop and built it into what the company claims is the oldest and only U.S.-based umbrella manufacturer still operating a domestic production facility. Its Vortex V2 54" Vented Jumbo Compact is a vented double-canopy auto open-and-close umbrella with a steel frame, wind-tunnel tested to 75 mph and closing down to 15 inches. The SS21 Supreme collab is a 54" auto open-and-close umbrella printed with a New York street-sign pattern and a box logo patch on the strap, released at $58 retail in black, red and natural colorways.
