About the original

The Supreme/Smurfs Leather Varsity Jacket is an all-leather varsity in lambskin with contrasting white leather shoulder and sleeve panels, a snap-front closure, welt hand pockets, an interior chest pocket, quilted satin lining, and knit-rib collar, cuffs, and hem. The back panel carries a chain-stitched and appliqué Smurfs graphic; the sleeves carry large blue "SUPREME" leather appliqué in the cartoons comic-strip lettering, with a Supreme/Smurfs woven label at the inside neck. The Smurfs (Les Schtroumpfs) were created by Belgian cartoonist Peyo — Pierre Culliford — in 1958, first appearing in Johan et Pirlouit before spinning off into their own comic and the Hanna-Barbera animated series that ran from 1981. Released October 22, 2020 at $788 under IMPS license in black, blue, and cream — Supreme exclusive.

About Smurfs

The Smurfs are a Belgian comics property created in 1958 by cartoonist Pierre Culliford, known as Peyo, in Brussels. The blue, three-apple-tall characters first appeared as supporting cast in the comic strip Johan et Pirlouit before getting their own series, Les Schtroumpfs, published by Dupuis. The property expanded globally through the Hanna-Barbera animated series that aired on NBC from 1981 to 1989, followed by feature films from Sony Pictures Animation beginning in 2011. The franchise is now managed by IMPS, the licensing company founded by Peyo's estate. Supreme has released apparel featuring Smurfs artwork under license.
