Regular Jean (Supreme exclusive)
About the original
The Supreme x Smurfs Regular Jean is a five-pocket regular-fit denim pant cut from cotton denim with an allover Smurf-character print silkscreened across the legs, a co-branded Supreme and Peyo leather patch at the waistband, and button fly. The Smurfs (Les Schtroumpfs in the original French) were created in 1958 by Belgian cartoonist Peyo — pen name of Pierre Culliford — as supporting characters in his Johan et Pirlouit comic strip before spinning off into their own books, the Hanna-Barbera series that ran from 1981, and the Sony Pictures film franchise. The FW20 capsule included a tee, hooded sweatshirt, skate deck, and jean using licensed Peyo artwork; the allover print jean retailed at $178 in blue and black.
About Smurfs
The Smurfs are a Belgian comics property created in 1958 by cartoonist Pierre Culliford, known as Peyo, in Brussels. The blue, three-apple-tall characters first appeared as supporting cast in the comic strip Johan et Pirlouit before getting their own series, Les Schtroumpfs, published by Dupuis. The property expanded globally through the Hanna-Barbera animated series that aired on NBC from 1981 to 1989, followed by feature films from Sony Pictures Animation beginning in 2011. The franchise is now managed by IMPS, the licensing company founded by Peyo's estate. Supreme has released apparel featuring Smurfs artwork under license.
