Supreme version

Original — Stone Island
Wool Knit Balaclava
About the original
Stone Island's Wool Knit Balaclava is a full-coverage head covering in a ribbed wool knit, finished with the brand's removable Compass patch attached by button at the left side. Stone Island was founded in 1982 in Ravarino, Italy by Massimo Osti as a companion label to his C.P. Company, which he started in 1971. The Compass logo, built around a nautical wind rose, signals the brand's ongoing fabric-dyeing and garment-research program. The FW20 Supreme collab applied a luminescent photosensitive yarn treatment to the knit, consistent with Stone Island's long catalog of reactive and experimental textiles. It retailed at $198.
About Stone Island
Stone Island is an Italian sportswear label founded in 1982 by Massimo Osti in Ravarino, near Modena. The brand is known for experimental textile research, including garment-dyed pieces, reflective fabrics, thermosensitive Ice Jackets, and the Tela Stella material developed from truck tarpaulin. Every piece carries the detachable compass-rose badge buttoned to the left sleeve. Carlo Rivetti's Sportswear Company has operated the brand since 1983, and Moncler Group acquired a controlling stake in 2020. Stone Island has a long association with English football casual and terrace culture alongside its streetwear following. Supreme has collaborated with Stone Island on co-branded outerwear and knitwear.
