About the original

The Timberland Authentics 3-Eye Classic Lug is a handsewn boat-shoe upper married to Timberland's rubber lug outsole, first introduced in 1978 when the Stratham, New Hampshire brand put its waterproof-boot sole under a moc-toe boat shoe. Construction is premium leather upper, leather lining, rawhide 360-degree lacing, three brass eyelets, and a hand-stitched moccasin toe. Timberland was founded in 1952 as the Abington Shoe Company and took the Timberland name in 1973 after the success of its injection-molded waterproof boot. The Supreme SS19 version keeps the original last and outsole but swaps the leather upper for black cow hair (pony hair), with a small Supreme-branded lace anchor, and was also produced in cheetah and croc-embossed variants. Retail was $168.

About Timberland

Timberland is an American footwear and apparel company founded in 1952 by Nathan Swartz as the Abington Shoe Company in Abington, Massachusetts, and later headquartered in Stratham, New Hampshire. In 1973 the company introduced the first injection-molded waterproof leather boot, branded as the Timberland, and adopted the name as its own. The wheat-colored 6-Inch Premium became a staple of 1990s hip-hop fashion, construction trades, and New York street dress. The company, now part of VF Corporation, also produces the Earthkeepers and PRO lines. Supreme and Timberland have collaborated on seasonal footwear and outerwear since 2002.
