About the original

Timberland was founded in 1952 by Nathan Swartz in Abington, Massachusetts and launched the 6-Inch Premium Waterproof Boot in 1973 as the first-ever injection-molded, fully waterproof leather work boot. The base 10061 "wheat" build uses waterproof nubuck uppers over a direct-attach rubber lug sole with a padded collar and rustproof hardware, and retails for about $210 on Timberland's site. Supreme's FW17 version overlaid the same boot silhouette with a printed Stars and Stripes American flag graphic in red, wheat, and navy; it released November 24, 2017 at $248. The flag print is exclusive to the collaboration — the un-printed wheat nubuck boot is the closest retail equivalent.

About Timberland

Timberland is an American footwear and apparel company founded in 1952 by Nathan Swartz as the Abington Shoe Company in Abington, Massachusetts, and later headquartered in Stratham, New Hampshire. In 1973 the company introduced the first injection-molded waterproof leather boot, branded as the Timberland, and adopted the name as its own. The wheat-colored 6-Inch Premium became a staple of 1990s hip-hop fashion, construction trades, and New York street dress. The company, now part of VF Corporation, also produces the Earthkeepers and PRO lines. Supreme and Timberland have collaborated on seasonal footwear and outerwear since 2002.
