Authentic 3-Eye Classic Lug Boat Shoe
About the original
The Timberland Authentic 3-Eye Classic Lug is a hand-sewn, premium-leather boat shoe introduced in 1978, combining the brand's boat-shoe upper with the lug outsole from its Yellow Boot. Timberland was founded in 1952 in Abington, Massachusetts by Nathan Swartz as the Abington Shoe Company and renamed Timberland in 1973 after its patented injection-molded waterproof boot. The standard Authentic 3-Eye Classic Lug retails at roughly $130 on Timberland.com and Amazon. Supreme's Fall/Winter 2022 version, released December 8, 2022 at $188, replaces the smooth leather upper with a woven full-grain leather body in black, olive, and pink while keeping the rawhide laces, padded collar, and rubber lug outsole of the original.
About Timberland
Timberland is an American footwear and apparel company founded in 1952 by Nathan Swartz as the Abington Shoe Company in Abington, Massachusetts, and later headquartered in Stratham, New Hampshire. In 1973 the company introduced the first injection-molded waterproof leather boot, branded as the Timberland, and adopted the name as its own. The wheat-colored 6-Inch Premium became a staple of 1990s hip-hop fashion, construction trades, and New York street dress. The company, now part of VF Corporation, also produces the Earthkeepers and PRO lines. Supreme and Timberland have collaborated on seasonal footwear and outerwear since 2002.
