About the original
The Vans Skate Chukka Low is the low-cut, skate-team Chukka, a silhouette Vans has run in its line for decades. Vans, founded in Anaheim, California in 1966, constructs the current version with a suede-and-canvas upper, Pro Vulc Lite build, and the brand's waffle rubber outsole. Supreme's Spring/Summer 2011 Chukka, dropped May 26, 2011, kept the uppers solid across five colors and added a black-and-white checkerboard insole and heel tab — a nod to Vans' own checkerboard history. The original Skate Chukka Low offers the same low profile, suede toe, and waffle traction, minus the checkerboard trim and the box logo.
About Vans
Vans is an American footwear company founded on March 16, 1966, by Paul Van Doren, his brother James, Gordon Lee, and Serge D'Elia in Anaheim, California, originally trading as the Van Doren Rubber Company. The company filed for Chapter 11 in 1984 and was acquired by VF Corporation in 2004. Supreme has collaborated with Vans on Sk8-Hi, Era, and Half Cab models since 1996.
