About the original
The Vans Half Cab is a mid-top skate shoe Vans and pro skater Steve Caballero developed in 1992, cutting down the taller Caballero signature model after skaters kept trimming the collars off themselves. Vans, founded in Anaheim, California in 1966, built it on a padded suede-and-canvas upper with a reinforced ollie patch and the waffle outsole that made it a vert and street staple. Supreme's Spring/Summer 2006 collab wrapped the Half Cab in Vans' own checkerboard print, running red, green, black and white squares across three colorways in red, white and black. The construction is the standard Half Cab '92; the checkerboard and the box logo are what the collab added.
About Vans
Vans is an American footwear company founded on March 16, 1966, by Paul Van Doren, his brother James, Gordon Lee, and Serge D'Elia in Anaheim, California, originally trading as the Van Doren Rubber Company.
